Day 10 - Middle of repairs in Stratta

Ameiko walks up to Kai after he returns from a hunting trip in the woods surrounding Stratta.

"Listen Kai. I know you mean well, but sometimes the things you like to leave me are a bit..." she pauses, taking the time to think her words through to be diplomatic.

[Wedge]

I assume that she's talking about the Oni's heart? (I would have only given her the one from the leader, preserved in a jar if possible.)

"You think it was getting the heart of your enemy is not normal? Think about it Ameiko. How many guys have given you flower or jewelry or candy? Those are normal gifts for from normal guys to normal girls. You are not a normal girl, Ameiko. You are an heir of the Kaijitsu, hunted by Oni bent on your destruction. You need a the kind of guy that will bring you the hearts of your enemies. Anything else might see you dead and I won't have that. I won't!

Besides, the heart I really want to give you is mine but I'm still using it. "

[ameiko]

"Down boy" she says rolling her eyes. "before you start carving out your own heart in an ultimate show of affection, I do not like jewelry, trinkets or hearts. How about if you make a tally sheet that lists how many people you kill for me. That sounds pretty nice.." she says a hopeful tone in her voice.

"Yeah!" she continues. "Think about all the extra people. Uh evil people" she corrects herself “you can kill instead of carving out hearts...?"

She then shakes her head. "But it is not just the hearts. It’s the little trinkets that you make and leave by my tent's door in the morning. Those are just as weird!"

[Wedge]

"Sure, I can keep a tally. Won't be as impressive though. I mean if someone's hassling you, you show them a bunch of hearts, they get the point real quick. Or you get an extra heart for your collection." Grins. " But have it your way."

"What trinkets? I just gave you the heart in a jar, the those flowers, and the jewelry. I didn't leave you any trinkets! Is someone else trying to court you? Just tell me who and I'll take care of it." Pulls out sword and examines edge. "Or maybe ... it sound like something the Half-hair Witch might do. Hmmm. Let's keep this between us for now and I'll watch you tent for a couple of nights. " Puts away sword. "OK?"

[ameiko]

"It had your initials on the bottom of the carving. It was signed 'Because I cannot give you my heart YKYMP'. The last one had me sitting on the caravan holding a heart above my open mouth! Whats worse... my butt was fat and I looked like an OGRE!"

She turns around and smacks her backside saying.. "This is what it looks like. Get it right next time!" She then walk off.

[Wedge]

"But...But...But..But....."

[Wedge]

Needless to say, I'll keep an eye on her tent.

First, night will be recon only. I.e. I just want to see who/what is leaving the trinkets. I don't think it's either another suitor or Jo, which leaves an enemy trying to pry me away from Ameiko. Over their dead body!
