Fun with paladins
The party has completed their journey over the Crown of the World and the air has grown warmer. After a few days travel they have arrived at the city of Ordu- Aganhei—the gateway to the mysterious Dragon Empires of Tian Xia, or, as Tians prefer to view it, the last outpost of civilization before the wilds of the Crown of the World and beyond. Named after the Tian explorer who first charted the route over the Crown of the World, Ordu-Aganhei is the primary trade hub on the Tian side of the Path of Aganhei, and represents the first major outpost of civilization you have encountered since leaving Kalsgard. The party can relax and recover from the rigors of their journey in the city, as well seek out information on the current situation in Minkai.
The PCs enter the city through its north gate, a decorated tower with a single 30-foot-high reinforced iron door and some 30 guards inside. The crowd going in and out of the city gates fixates on the caravan as it rolls toward town. There is no malice in their eyes, only curiosity. Ulf explains to the group that a caravan coming out of the Crown of the World in the off-season is an almost unheard of occurrence.
The gate guards examine the PCs with barely hidden suspicion. The guards’ examination is strict and thorough, dust swirling around them as they work. Just as it looks like the guards won’t allow the caravan into the city, however, a well-dressed man appears at the gate from within the city, prostrates himself (quite literally) before the group, and makes a speech.
“Honored guests! Welcome, welcome, and three welcomes more! Please ignore these slithering worms beneath your feet—I assure you they shall be punished for their insolence. Prince Batsaikhar, golden orb of sunlight at the black portal of barbarism, bids you welcome to Ordu-Aganhei, the City at the Edge of the World. My most munificent lord invites his honored guests to his humble palace to rest, dine, partake in polite conversation, and perhaps indulge in some pleasure. The Golden One says he hopes you will honor him with your clever speech from strange lands, a speech that he of all men in Hongal has mastered. He is eager to hear of your journey across the Crown of the World in this most difficult time of travel.”

post away. Let me know if you want to accept the invitation.

Re: Fun with paladins
I believe we should take this offer since it appears that this prince is the ruler of the current city we are in. The servant appears to be a non-evil person who does not appear to have a reason to lie to us so far.

Re: Fun with paladins
The servent walks over to Sierra and bows, handing her a black rose. He then says "“There is no fire like the fire in the souls of the women of far lands. Beauty is the wisdom of women, and wisdom is the beauty of men.”
The servent leads the party through the streets of Ordu-Aganhei to the enormous wooden Palace of the Prince. Chua (the servant) hurries you past countless guards and groveling slaves to the palace’s central courtyard, a vast chamber nearly 100 yards across built around a steaming lake.
Orchids grow in gardens overlooking the lake, while colorful herons swoop through the air, all beneath a ceiling
hidden by prayer flags.
On a huge bed surrounded by colorful silks, painted screens, and beautiful white-painted women sits an
enormous, smiling man barely dressed in voluminous robes—Prince Batsaikhar. Immediately behind him
stands a tall figure in full samurai armor, carrying an enormous drawn sword.
The man stands from his bed and slightly adjusts his rob before walking over to the group before slowly moving his hand in an arc in a welcoming jesture of friendship (in his culture). He then speaks.

Re: Fun with paladins
"I express sincere welcome to my honored guests."
He walks around before you with a large smile on his face. "It is very rare that we have guests who cross the crown this time of year. To be able to do that is no small thing. While you restock your supplies, I invite your caravan to stay here in the palace as my royal guests! You will have my finest rooms." He says still smiling.
"In fact" he says as he turns to his servants and claps in the air. "We will have a feast for the next five days in their honor. It will start tonight and in five days we will have a festival! I ask you to bring nothing but your stories of travels to entertain us!"
His smile continues as he looks at each person in the group, though his gaze seems to pause slightly on Sierra.
"Xu!" he says and claps his hands again, which causes a servant to rush to his side. "tell the merchants in town that they are to treat our Royal guests with respect and honor they deserve." The servant bows and runs out toward the city.
He smiles as he turns back to the group. Looking at Sierra, he says "The feast will start at 6PM. Miro here will show you your rooms whenever you desire to visit them. Until then, The city is yours to visit!"
(DM: any thing you want to say/ask to him? To Sierra. He does not radiate evil)

"Prince Batsaikhar, it is we who are honored by your invitation. We would be delighted to stay for your festival. Perhaps I could regale you with tales of our travels across the Crown of the World?"

Re: Fun with paladins
If anyone else wants to ask anything or do anything in town, let me know.
This next part would take place after you have left the prince and before the feast.
A messanger scurrys over to the group and hands Sierra a message from the Prince.
"I have deliveerd a package for you at Chang's apperal. It would be my pleasure for you to accept it."
If you go to the store, you would find that the prince has left an outfit for you to have. It is a very nice dress and looks like it cost a pretty penny. A note is attached that says "The most beautiful flower in the city should have the finast silk. It would honor me greatly if you wear it to the feast. -- Prince B"
Please let me know if you accept and wear the dress to tonights feast.

Re: Fun with paladins
Jo can't help but chuckle at the large man's partial nudity. He stifles it with his hand as dodo squawks and bumps against Kai. Staring up at Kai with one big eye and his head tilted all the way sideways, Kai can see the gleam of the crown reflected in the black orb. If he is wondering how to use it without attracting attention, Jo suddenly steps forward.
Giving an awkward bow which flips his hair into his face, Jo grins wide at the Prince as he walks jauntily to his bedside. "OH great, great, GREAT Prince, we are so glad to be among friends. Our trek through the wilds has been plagued with misfortune and we only survived by the grace of the powers I serve. Your daughters are quite lovely, if I may say. And this must be your court jester. His humor is apparent even to a serious man, such as myself. Your servant has blessed us with the kind words, pointing out the wisdom of my friend, the most holy Sierra. I had never noticed her wisdoms before, as they are usually hidden beneath layers of metal. If she is anything like our caravan leader, you may indeed have the pleasure of her counsel, as we have. Here we have Kai, a man of many talents, including carving both wood and flesh. He is especially known for depicting private moments. Kit's stories are renowned throughout the crown, where the wind moans with even greater sadness for having heard them. Many are the nights around the fire that I have been lulled to sleep by his droning. Vanthus is a friend of the wilds, companion to beasts. He cares so much for them, especially when it grows cold at night. His arrows are not the only things that pierce flesh. Just ask his pet chicken, who even now soars above dropping his respects upon your fair city. Sam Rye is a warrior without equal and swordsmen of quality! His honor is like our caravan master's indiscretions: without regret, remorse, or forethought. And I myself! I am Jo-dahn, wielder of powers no other can see, shaper of fates, master of nothing! Let that not fool you, for nothing is what every man fears to become. Our quest will bring change to your kingdom, to all the lands, perhaps the world. Your assistance will be remembered, if not necessarily needed."

Kit cannot hide his laughter very well, and has to turn away to avoid laughing so loud at Jo's speech. When he turns back, he has bitten his lower lip, and a single tear may roll down his check.

Kai glares at Jo and takes a step away from him. Then he uses the crown to see if the prince or anyone else in the room is an Oni.

There is no oni in the room. Also, this kingdom, while in the asian lands, is not part of the same kingdom you are going to. Think of this area like central america and the kingdom your headed to the USA.
Re: Fun with paladins
Sierra will graciously accept the dress and wear it the feast. She is concerned as to just how exactly the prince is so knowledgeable about the fact that they were coming to town? And she begins to suspect tge prince may be taking a "personal" interest in her due to the way he has been complementing and giving her such an expensive gift.
