Unrest in the streets
The Party returns to townafter killing the winter wolf and its pack. The towns citizens look uneasy at them as the party heads to the castle. A few of the citizens come up and ask the party to help the town.
"Tuskberg is under attack." one says, wringing her hands.
"It's probably the Stag Lords Ghost!" one yells out in fear.
Kesten comes up to the crowd and works to break it up.
From the corner of his eye, Kyrass sees Molly look at the party and nods toward the castle. She then blends in with the crowd, heading in that direction.

Re: Unrest in the streets
In a less crowded section of Tuskberg, Molly motions for the group.
"I was... lets say.. 'gathering information' when I heard about some of the stuff going on." she says as she plays with a long section of her hair with her finger.
"From what I hear, the night before you left, some livestock were killed out at a farm close by. A maid named Saki didnt make it to her shift yesturday morning. They went looking for her and found her dead just outside of town by a berry patch. More than likely she was killed the night you left. This morning, a shepard boy named Beven was found dead with half a dozen of his sheep as well. They think he killed last night as he was bringing in the flock."
She dusts of her dress and turns to go. "I don't know anything else. We don't have a proper church so the bodies are at the shrine. They are trying to decide where to bury them. I'll ask around to see if I can get anything else for you." She smacks Kyrass on the butt and leaves.

Re: Unrest in the streets
Before Molly leaves I'll ask her for more precise locations of each of the killings. Are the location in any sort of pattern?
Next, I think Pythia (or anyone else with the right skill) to calm the down the crowd and tell them that we will find whatever is responsible and put a stop to it. Meanwhile, We look at the bodies: How were they killed? Can we determine what kind of weapon(s) were used? Anything unusual? Any similarities between the two victims which may make a pattern? Were they robbed? Raped? Any items missing?
Then we'll got to the crime scenes and see what we find there. Was meat taken or eaten from the killed animals? Or humans for that matter? Perhaps Kyras and/or his wolf can find tracks or a scent to follow.
I'll have Hawkberd fly overhead and give a screech if he sees any threat approaching.

"Other than the fact that they all happened with in a half mile of town, there is no pattern. They are not grouped together nor in one location."

Diplomacy checks to calm people down and assure them that they will do everything they can to get to the bottom of who is responsible.

Re: Unrest in the streets
The diplomacy succeeds, but some are calmer than others. The "4" on the roles they feel better, but they are still nervous.
To get information on the bodies someone needs to make a heal check. Pythia is going to be out for an hour or so talking to the people.
If no one else has a heal skill, you can grab father Jhod. You can also grab Pythia if you want to wat the hour out.

Track is level + survival, which gives me +15 to my roll.
I track where the bodies were found. I do a second roll for the second body.

Re: Unrest in the streets
Your right but it is half your level. I will pm you the results as the others are at the shrine.
Re: Unrest in the streets
I would not think Kyras would go by himself. The plan was to examine the bodies at the shrine, grab Pytiea and then go investigate the crime scenes.
I assumed that William was just making his rolls ahead of time.

Re: Unrest in the streets
That's fine, but I was thinking splitting up into three groups would be faster. Crime scene, bodies, asking around town. They always split up in the crime shows lol.
Should pythia do a heal check?
Should pythia do a heal check?
Re: Unrest in the streets
The police in the crime shows rarely get ambushed by orc and if they find a suspect that they don't want to face alone they can call for backup.
Having said that, are we limited on time? The crimes occurred a while back so I wouldn't think the trail would get measurable colder in another hour. Does anyone disagee?
And yes, Pythia should make a check if we have time.

"The people believe that we will do what we can to catch the killer, but they are still nervous." She says as she looks over the bodies.
"Huh" she says.
"They appear to be killed by a man sized animal. Possibly a large wolf or worg." She inspects the bodies further.
"All the bodies, including the sheep seem to be partially eaten."

I will go with the Fighter and Bard to do the tracking, and then will report what we find.
